Hi, my name is Pooka which means Lucky Charm. I’m still looking for my fur-ever family and home. I’ve had a few families come to meet my siblings and I. Unfortunately, we get nervous when new people come into our space at our foster home. Due to our initial shyness, we’ve been passed over several times for other kittens. My/our story…. A very nice elderly lady, Hattie, and her son, Wayne, caught my family. They reached out to the rescue for help in rehoming us. The rescue was able to help our momma, who is feral, with TNR services. We were estimated at 6 weeks old at the end of July when we joined our foster mom in the rescue. My foster mom says we were Spicy Kittens! Every time my foster mom would enter the room, we would run and hide. Several weeks went by of me watching my brother rub against our foster mom’s legs. Once I realized he was safe, I joined in on rubbing against her legs too. We’ve almost tripped her. We are that intense about it! I’m gorgeous and I know it just look at me. If you’re lucky enough to touch me you will find that I have very soft velvet like fur. Due to us now becoming teenagers, my foster mom thought we should give The Cafe Meow a try to help boost our confidence and trust in humans. We’ve made so much progress this far! I’m searching for a calm and patient family/home to call mine. I need a person/family that is willing to give me time to warm up. I promise it’ll happen it just might not be immediately. It took me months to trust my foster mom. I really would like to be adopted with Wayne or there needs to be another cat friend in the house. I’m still learning to trust and am more confident with a friend. Did I mention, I love food. My favorite playtime activity is cat fishing and drowning the toy mice in the water dish. I have not been formally introduced to the dog. Slow introductions are recommended. I do love to play footsie games with the resident cats under the door. I’m nervous around new people and kids but am excitedly nervous about meeting lots of new people at the Cafe.
