Hello! My name is Mia and I’m a bit shy, but love to be around people. My favorite activities are batting around toy mice and chasing my ribbon wand with you. I LOVE to be part of the action but from a distance. You’ll often find me right underneath your chair or watching you from under a table. I love hiding under blankets so watch where you sit, please. 🙂

I was abandoned at a young age and left to raise my six kittens outside (they all found their forever homes). I joined a small colony but was always low cat on the totem pole, hoping to get enough food to feed my family. When I was trapped, I showed a lot of interest in my new indoor surroundings and started meowing at my foster family. They decided I needed a shot at an indoor life, and I’ve been warming up nicely.

Still, life needs to happen on my terms, and I will need a patient family to show me that they’re trustworthy before I’ll feel comfortable. If you play with me lots and give me a safe, calm environment, I will be all yours in no time! My foster mom and Here To The Rescue are cat socializing pros and can give you all the best tips and tricks for how to best introduce me into your home!

I used to have to fend for food in my old cat colony, so my family is gonna need to watch my weight (foster mom wrote this line, not me *sigh*). I’m prone to getting a little chunky if I have open access to food, so for my health, a meal-fed, calorie-monitored diet is best. I will do best in a home with other cats or kittens to play with but adding a new cat later might be tough for me. I’m still working on my confidence, so a place with no young kids will be my best home and I’m not a big fan of dogs. But give me time and I will greet you with my tail held high, just waiting to play with you!! I’ll be very loyal to you and I promise not to hog the bed too much! I like butt scritches and belly rubs and I’ll even let you pick me up for cuddles sometimes. I’m pretty low maintenance, but foster mom says my claws can curl around quickly and she has a friend lightly scruff me and give me chin scratches while she does that clip thing. I’m ok with that.

Please know, I’m never going to be your adventure cat. A sunny window or well-secured catio is ok, but I’m not gonna be one for leash training or outdoor wandering. I’ve lived on those mean streets long enough, so please let me live out my days safely inside. I just can’t wait to find my prrrfectly patient furrever family. Is it you???

If I am in an adoption program, it means someone took the time to work with me after trapping.
They showed me love, taught me to trust, and gave me the confidence to love back so much that
I would live my best life indoors with a family.

If you see me in an outdoor home sporting an eartip, it means someone cared enough about me to get me vetted, neutered, vaccinated and make sure I have the best life in my outdoor colony.
