What is that lurking in the shadows? Is it scary? Is it mean? No, it’s just me Basil! I am that super cute dreamsicle hiding in the corners, down low in the trees, behind the blankets, or up hiding watching the world go by. I am far from being a mean cat, just terrified of the world. HTTR is not sure about my past but I was originally with another organization where I was scheduled to become a barn cat. My foster knew I didn’t have what it took to be an outside mouser but rather just scared of my own shadow. Since being at HTTR I have made huge strides. I don’t hiss, swat, or bite and actually really enjoy gentle pets and scratches. During the day I sleep but at night when the lights go out my foster finds me playing with toys and other cats. They call me a silly nightowl, whatever that means. My purrrfect home would be a quiet one; no children or dogs- yikes they are just so busy! I’d also love places I could be up high and comfy when I’m down low. Lots of sunshine and windows too please. And… I need a confident feline friend! Even though I’m incredibly shy, I’m told once shy cats get into a home with structure and safety we blossom! I am so excited to become the best boy I can be! Will that be with you?
Just to Review:
🐱Living Arrangements: Indoor only. No catios, leash training, or strollers.
🐱Good w/ Cats: Yes, I need a buddy but not a bully
🐱Good w/ Dogs: I could take ‘em or leave ‘em! Only dogs who will leave me alone!
🐱Good w/children: Not much experience but over 16 might be okay
🐱Other: I will need a patient family but PROMISE to be a good friend once I’m comfortable.

An Eartip is a Badge of Honor
If I am in an adoption program, it means someone took the time to work with me after trapping. They showed me love, taught me to trust, and gave me the confidence to love back so much that I would live my best life indoors with a family.
If you see me in an outdoor home sporting an eartip, it means someone cared enough about me to get me vetted, neutered, vaccinated and make sure I have the best life in my outdoor colony.
