Iris is a silly cat who likes to do things on her terms. She is oftentimes making our entire family laugh with her zoomies across the living room, attempts to catch flies mid air (her success rate is at a solid 0%), and ability to nap in inconspicuous places but then seemingly appear out of thin air when the cat food cat opens. She enjoys a variety of toys and loves a good scratching post. She also enjoys snuggling up with another cat for nap time or wrestling with young kittens. Iris loves her people too! But she prefers to get human attention on her terms. This usually means she plops down on your lap in the middle of a movie and then walks away when she’s ready. She also really enjoys sneaking into our bedroom during the day only to reappear when you’re just about to fall asleep so that she can curl up next to/on top of you. She will occasionally nibble on us too but it’s never mean.
Iris has lived with cats, dogs, and kids before. She loves other cats, tolerates the dogs (Iris lives in her own world and is absolutely unbothered by what our dogs are doing), and does well with our kids because they allow Iris to choose when she interacts with us instead of chasing them to get her attention. I wouldn’t categorize Iris as aloof because we do see and interact with her regularly throughout the day. She just likes to be in charge of what she’s doing and where she’s going!
This cat has been spayed/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV (negative), up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
