Meet Kvothe (pronounced nearly the same as ‘Quothe’), named after the protagonist in Patrick Rothfuss’ Name of the Wind. Unlike his namesake, Kvothe is a shy cat from an outdoor colony still adjusting to human attention. He’s made great progress since October but needs a patient home that will go at his pace. Kvothe is a beautiful white and orange Manx with a little stub of a tail, born that way! If you’re lucky enough to pet him, you’ll find he’s incredibly soft, loves butt scratches, and has a soothing purr. He can get skittish when you reach for him, so don’t be offended if he zooms off.
Kvothe LOVES to play! He enjoys wand toys, zooming through his cat tunnel, and batting balls around. Playing is a great way to get him to open up. Kvothe’s new family should take things slow with introductions to new people, the home, and any pets, starting with one room at a time. He’s untested with dogs and children but would likely be scared of them. He’s fostered with Denna (also at the Cafe Meow) and loves her, but she’s indifferent to him, so they don’t need to be adopted together. Kvothe would do best in a home with a friendly, confident cat to help him adjust.
