Phoenix, who rose from the ashes and is also known as Fawkes (pronounced Fox), is hoping that his luck is ready to turn around.  This handsome boy initially came to The Rescue Crew in February 2021 after he was a victim of a house fire. Understandably he was terrified. He had singed fur, burns on his skin, and suffered from smoke inhalation. We immediately got him in to see a vet and nursed him back to health. He’s in great shape now, although still shows signs of mild bronchitis (mild wheezing) after strenuous activity or rough-housing.  He was quickly adopted after getting healthy just 1-1/2 months later. Fawkes loved his family – especially his human sibling. He would rough house and play with the family Coonhound.  He liked wearing a sweater, even in the Summer, and showing off how fancy he is.  Sadly, his best friend and human brother began having some serious respiratory ailments and after a lot of testing it was found he was allergic to Fawkes. Everyone was heartbroken and Fawkes was depressed for quite some time after losing his home for the second time.  He’s bounced back again though and ready to start over.  Fawkes is a vocal and friendly boy; he’ll be the first to greet you at the door when you arrive home after a hectic day of work. He loves being held and when you pick him up he wraps into you like he’s giving you a great big hug and saying “I love you.” He’s also an inquisitive boy and doesn’t mind the water; he’ll take a bath really well should you be inclined to give him one. This is a very special cat who deserves a very special family – one with kids who will love him and maybe even a cat-savvy dog that will play with him during the day when his human siblings are away at school.

This cat has been spayed/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV (negative), up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
